As in the initial novel, the story follows two relationships: the tragic adulterous love of Anna Karenina and Count Alexei Vronsky, as well as the much more hopeful relationship of Nikolai Levin and Kitty Shcherbatskaya. These four, yearning for real love, reside in a steampunk-inspired 19th hundred years of mechanical butlers, extraterrestrial-worshiping cults, and airborne debutante balls. Their passions only would be enough to take them-but whenever a key cabal of radical medical revolutionaries launches an strike on Russian high society’s high-tech way of life, our heroes must fight with all their courage, almost all their devices, and all the power of the sleek new cyborg model like nothing the world has ever seen.
