The audioguide tells the storyplot, represents the architecture and presents interesting factual statements about the basilica of the Saints Felice and Fortunato, a paleo-Christian monument of history that’s rooted in the ancient history of the Roman Empire.

Much proof the Roman presence was within the territory from the church, during several excavations. Some of these finds are kept in the Civic Museum of Vicenza as well as the other in the Basilica Museum. Being among the most significant discovers are the Petronio about Basilica of Saints Felix and Fortunatus. Vicenza. Italy Stele with an inscription and unbisselion (two-person seat) and a priestly and masterly scroll. Another inquisitive find may be the sacred altar of Venus, found in the masonry from the martyrion of the basilica. The church is focused on the brothers Felice and Fortunato, the vicentini martyrs, decapitated in Aquileia, in the days of Diocletian’s persecution.

Among the oldest & most important basilica sites is the Martyrion. In the bottom of the proper nave is the entrance to this chapel focused on Sancta Maria Mater Domini. It had been built in storage and in honor of the Saints Felice and Fortunato, but there are also relics of other saints.

Just some fragments of mosaic have already been preserved, primarily in the northwestern part of the church. In them there may be the symbolism from the images as well as the spiritual grain that characterizes the mosaics from the grandiose Paleochristian basilicas. The best preserved mosaic structure can be that of the winged lion, symbolic of the evangelist Marco. In the north part, there is the representation of a saint on the golden background. The grandiose representation from the sky vault, in the dome, presents the same iconography. You can examine the 3D style of the church and observe its interior through the MuByz App. The audioguide has been made by professionals in neuro-scientific history and art.
