At the request of Lady Harcourt, Charlie and Lincoln begin searching for her missing stepson. Still recovering from her ordeal as a result of a diabolical villain, Charlie is meant to be relaxing. But resting is usually dull, therefore she throws herself into the task at hand, very much to Lincoln’s frustration.

The search prospects them straight down a dark path full of family secrets and titillating scandal. Using her necromancy to expose those secrets, Charlie unwittingly increases a spirit with the energy to override her control. With a lifeless body within the loose in London, Charlie and Lincoln must interact to send out it back again before havoc is definitely unleashed, and the committee members find out.

Because if indeed they do, they have even more ammunition in their battle to send Charlie from her home and everyone she loves.
