Wayne Boswell, Dr Johnson’s celebrated biographer, changes period traveller to pursue other legends to immortalise within this award-winning comedy series. Hampered by his very own pomposity and self-importance, he finds that his subjects get the better of him – with amusing consequences.

Interviewing Sigmund Freud, Boswell can be wrong-footed when Freud asks all the questions, and on conference Maria Callas (and her poodle) he turns into caught up within an opera of his own producing. While talking to Harold Pinter he discovers himself the victim of a bad betrayal, and Boris Johnson proves to be always a formidable opponent – especially within the whiff-whaff table.

Compiled by acclaimed comedy article author Jon Canter, this hugely amusing series won the Prix Europa for Perfect European Radio Group of the entire year.
