It’s been a significant week for Joe Gray. First the large, effective feline discovers that, through some strange, inexplicable phenomenon, he now has the capacity to understand human language. Then he discovers he can speak it aswell! It’s a headache for a cat who’d prefer to sleep the day apart carefree, but Joe can handle it. That’s, until he gets the misfortune to witness a murder in the alley behind Jolly’s Deli-and worse, to be seen witnessing it. With all of his nine lives instantly in danger, Joe’s got no choice but to access the bottom of the heinous crime-because his mouse-hunting times are over for good unless he might help provide a killer to justice.
