Dear Bob and Sue is the story of our (Matt and Karen Smith’s) journey to all 59 U.S. National Parks. We wrote the reserve as a series of emails to your friends, Bob and Sue, where we share our humorous and quirky observations. It really is at times irreverent, unstable and sarcastic, all in the spirit of laughter. We describe a few of our encounters in each recreation area but usually do not provide an exhaustive summary of each encounter or recreation area. We use these occasions as the vehicle to provide insights about our romantic relationship. We didn’t intend for this book to be always a travel information nor a recommendation for how exactly to check out all 59 of the U.S. National Parks, although many readers have said they’ve found it to be a useful guide. Rather, it is our story about how we achieved it.
