Ged and Tenar first met in their youth, when he was a robust wizard and she a higher priestess. Together, they escaped the Tombs of Atuan and brought serenity to the troubled archipelago of Earthsea.

Years later, their pathways have diverged. Ged – once Archmage of Roke and the best wizard on all of Earthsea – offers about Earthsea: Series 2: A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation sacrificed his magical powers to defeat a great wicked. Meanwhile, Tenar, right now widowed and with grown-up kids, runs a farm around the isle of Gont, where Ged was born.

When Tenar saves a remarkable young young lady from certain death, she adopts her and names her Therru. Immediately after, she actually is reunited with Ged when he results to the isle of his delivery on the back of a dragon. Pursued by foes and facing great danger, Tenar, Ged and Therru are swept up within an epic experience concerning dragons, wizards, royalty and the ultimate fate of Earthsea itself…
