Read simply by Martin Freeman, in Life, the Universe and Everything, the 3rd title in Douglas Adams’ blockbusting sci-fi comedy series, The Hitchhiker’s Guidebook towards the Galaxy, Arthur Dent sees himself enlisted to prevent a galactic war.

In consequence of several spectacular catastrophes, Arthur Dent is surprised to find himself living in a hideously unpleasant prehistoric Earth. However, just as he feels that stuff cannot possibly obtain any worse, they suddenly perform. He discovers how the galaxy isn’t only mind-bogglingly big and bewildering, but also that a lot of of the things that happen in it are staggeringly unfair.

Escaping the end from the world for a second period, Arthur, Ford, and their old friend Slartibartfast embark (reluctantly) on the mission to save lots of the whole galaxy from fanatical robots. Pretty good for a guy in his dressing gown .
