It’s Christmastime, and farmer Lucy Resnick is living the life span she’s always imagined. When she’s not selling her jams, soaps, and mistletoe bundles in the Buttercup Christmas Market, she’s enjoying cozy evenings with the open fire with her knitting group-or her good looking veterinarian boyfriend Tobias Brandt. But under a week before Xmas, a pall falls on the festive atmosphere when regional man Randy Rock turns up having a blade in his back . . . and a sprig of mistletoe in his locks.

Regional sheriff Rooster Kocurek, never the brightest bulb on the string, is usually confident it’s an open-and-shut case-murder by jealous wife-but Lucy suspects in any other case. She shortly discovers that Randy’s lifestyle was even more tangled than last year’s Christmas lights . . . and that unless she wraps in the case fast, there might be more than one funeral this holidays.
