Summary:

Based on the real story of renowned social psychologist Stanley Milgram, “Please Continue” recounts the infamous obedience tests at Yale in the 1960s. In that research, participants were asked to manage strong electric powered shocks to a topic who gave the incorrect response to a issue, not knowing which the shocks were artificial, and they were the real subject of the analysis. The play examines how the experiments gave insight into the character of authoritarianism and specific morality.

Includes an about Please Continue interview about technology and ethics with Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, a Professor of Education at the Rossier School of Education, a Professor of Psychology at the mind and Creativity Institute, and a member from the Neuroscience Graduate Plan Faculty in the School of Southern California.
