When the Picture Network commissioned a documentary in mermaids, to become filmed in the cruise liner Atargatis, they expected what that they had constantly received before: an assortment of eyewitness reports that proved nothing, some footage that proved also less, and the kind of ratings that only originated from peddling imaginary creatures to the masses.
