The pact is broken. The individual world that Alex once belonged to is definitely no longer safe. From every direction, lycans from additional packs are arriving, developing an army that may hopefully be ready to combat Valkos and his werewolves. Presuming, of course, that they can end fighting among themselves initial. And that Alex can in some way find a way to lead them.

It doesn’t help that she’s hardly ever felt more only, either, with her family members on the other side of the globe for their own safety, and Kael on his own mysterious trip up north.

Aligning with these particular wolves is usually a desperate and perhaps dangerous move, but a required one, almost everyone agrees. Desperate times, desperate measures. It seems sensible. But nonetheless, Alex isn’t so sure. Because if she’s discovered anything these previous weeks, it’s that items are not often what they seem-and power always includes a cost. And this time the purchase price may be more than she pays.
