Mason has never known his dad, but longs to. All he has of him can be a Dvd and blu-ray of a man whose face is certainly never seen, reading a children’s publication. One day, on the whim, he plays the Dvd movie for several comatose teens on the nursing house where his mom works. One of them, a beautiful woman, responds. Mason learns she is component of an test designed to render teens into autotrophs-genetically built, self-sustaining life-forms who don’t want food or water to survive. And before he knows it, Mason is usually away from home with the girl, and wanted, useless or alive, from the mysterious mastermind of the horrible plan, who is simply known as the Gardener. Will Mason be forced to destroy the thing he’s longed for most?
