In “The Weapon”, a group of space explorers are shot down above a deserted globe. While some from the crew work on fixing the ship, the remainder attempt to investigate the earth. Usually unpopulated, they discover the huge weapon that shot them down sitting atop a trove of social artifacts from a bygone civilization. What harm could come of dismantling the gun and taking a several artifacts home with them?
