That she barely escaped the handbags from the Septori with the help of a mysterious stranger.

And that her run-in using the Septori’s iron butterfly machine did something to her. It changed her into something neither fully individual nor Denai.

Fearing her inner darkness and looking for answers to her past, Thalia discovers refuge like a servant on the Citadel in Calandry, a school for the gifted Denai.

When strange powers awaken within her she is forced to pretend to become one of them and goes from being truly a servant to students overnight. Her lifestyle becomes a lot more complicated when the good-looking stranger who saved her from your Septori becomes her new fighting instructor.
