When Nicholas Spencer, the charismatic mind of the company which has developed an anticancer vaccine, disappears with out a track, reporter Marcia ‘Carley’ DeCarlo is assigned the storyplot. Word that Spencer, if alive, has made off with large sums of cash — like the lifestyle savings of many workers — doesn’t do much to improve Carley’s currently low opinion of Spencer’s wife, Lynn, who is also Carley’s stepsister and whom everyone believes is involved. However when Lynn’s existence is threatened, she asks Carley to help her verify that she wasn’t her husband’s accomplice.
